How It Works

The tool renders your uploaded image onto an HTML5 Canvas element. When you click at a specific coordinate, it reads the RGBA values of that pixel using the Canvas getImageData API. These values are then converted to HEX, RGB, and HSL formats. The pixel coordinates are mapped from the displayed image size to the actual image dimensions to ensure accurate color extraction regardless of how the image is scaled on screen.

Tips for Best Results

For the most accurate color extraction, upload images in their original resolution rather than compressed thumbnails. Colors can shift slightly in compressed JPEG images, so PNG or uncompressed formats yield more precise results. Click near the center of the color region you want to capture to avoid edge pixels that may blend with neighboring colors.
